NEW LOW AT NSE 30/1/2017
The Nigerian stock market hit a new 5 day low today, January 30 as All shares index eased by 0.42% under pressure mainly from 1.15% drop in banking index and 0.52% decrease in premium index.
Total deals recorded for equities came to 2139 involving 143,523,453 units.
High interest continued to revolve around financial services although.in the main,price gains there were few.
Day high deals was in Guarantee Trust Bank as 2934064 units changed hands in 212 deals while losing 1.56% to N23.97 per share.
Close was yet another financial services equity, UBA, with 169 deals for 7,753,284 units again with price per share down 2.73% at N4.98.
Zenith International bank too ended with high enough investors interest with 145 deals as 4,796,149 units were sold marginally down (-0.62%) at N15.9 per share.
It was still financial services as FBN Holdings followed with 135 deals for 7,646,264 units but 1.74% in price per share.
Forte oil broke the finance lead interest with 98 deals for paltry 149270 units and up 2.95% at N74 per share.
It was followed by African Prudential Registrars (93 deals for 1,972,822 units, down 2.26% to N3.03 per share and fellow oil and gas, Oando with 84 deals for 2289948 shares.
The days gainers were rather few lead by 7up Bottling up 5% at N113.4 per share as 21 deals scrambled for only 31571 units for sale; Caverton Offshore up 4.35% at N0.72 per share as 5 deals were recorded for 175870 units and Eternal oil up 4.02% at N3.62 per share as 1,206,800 units changed hands in27 deals.
Other gainers include Forte oil, FBN Holdings United Capital, Unity Bank and Dangote Flour.
The losers were far more led by Guinness Nigeria's 4.99% loss to N64.9 per share as 62 deals were sealed; Continental Re down 4.92% as two deals split 55,500 units at N1.16 per share and Diamond bank down 4.04% to N0.95 per share as 4585410 units were sold through 46 deals.
Other major losers include Wema bank in which a deal for 50,000 units was at N0.53 per share, down 3.64%; Transcorporation of Nigeria down 3.7% at N0.78 per share and Neimeth International Pharmaceuticals down 4.11% with 12 deals for 1374552 units at N0.70.
