CORPORATE NEWS: BOARD CHANGES AT WEMA, EQUITY INSURANCE, ACCESS BANK, NAHCO
NEW DMD AT WEMA BANK
A new deputy managing director (DMD) has been appointed for Wema Bank PLC in the person of Mr Ademola Adebise.
According to notification signed by the company Secretary and legal adviser of Wema, Sole Ajimisinmi, the appointment has already been confirmed by the Central Bank of Nigeria.
As DMD, he will be in charge of corporate and business directorate covering corporate banking, treasury and financial institutions, South Business group and business support division.
He was executive director, corporate and south directorate before his elevation.
He brings to bear over 25 years experience in banking and management consulting, across the wide spectrum of information technology, financial control and strategic planning, treasury, corporate banking and risk management.
An alumnus of Harvard business school, he holds first degree in computer science from university of Lagos, an MBA from Lagos business school apart from being a fellow of the Institute of chartered accountants of Nigeria, honorary member of the institute of bankers of Nigeria, and associate of the chartered institute of taxation.
He is also a member of the institute of directors.
EQUITY INSURANCE NEW CEO
A new managing director/CEO has been appointed for Equity Insurance PLC. He is Mr Morufu Olakunle Apampa.
According to the company secretary, John Akujieze, he replaces Mr Ekpe Ukpabio who resigned his appointment November 30, 2016.
Mr Apampa's appointment, says Akujieze, has been confirmed by the National Insurance Commission.
ACCESS BANK'S NEW ED.
Dr Gregory Ovie Jobome has been elevated to the board of directors of Access Bank as executive director, risk management.
According to company secretary, Sunday Ekwochi, he joined Access bank in 2010 as general manager and chief risk officer.
Before then he was risk management consultant to Guarantee Trust Bank PLC as part of his over 25 years working experience which also included stints at University of Liverpool management school, and Manchester Business school.
He holds a masters and doctorate in economics and finance from Loughborough university UK, in addition to an MBA from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ife and first degree in economics from the University of Maiduguri.
NEW CHAIRMAN FOR NAHCO.
Architect Usman Bello has taken over as the new chairman of the board of directors of Nigerian Aviation Handling co PLC (NAHCO).
He replaced the vice chairman of the board, Dennis Hasdentenfel who had been acting since October 2016.
Bello is an accomplished architect and principal partner of Ericon Bello & Associates apart from being board member of HNB Security ltd, Protection company ltd and chairman of Bello group of companies and Zycom Surveillance inc.
