BOARD CHANGES AT ZENITH BANK; FIDELITY BANK; FORTE OIL; ACCESS BANK
ZENITH BANK: TWO NEW DEPUTY CEOs AND EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Zenith Bank PLC has announced the appointment of two deputy managing directors and an executive director to its board.
According to a notice signed by the bank's managing director Mr Peter Amangbo, the two DMDs are Ms Adaora Umeoji and Mr Ebenezer Onyeagwu while Ahmed Umar Shuaib comes aboard as an executive director.
Their appointment was approved by the board of directors at a meeting held on October 19,
Before her new assignment, Umeoji was executive director in charge of Abuja and Northern zone operations of Zenith bank.
She holds Bsc in Sociology and an MBA with over 20 years of corporate banking experience especially in marketing, treasury operations, branch management and human relations.
She is a member of the Nigerian Institute of Management and the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria.(CIBN).
Onyeagwu, on the other hand, was executive director, international banking before his new job.
A fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), he brings to bear over 24 years experience in branch operations, credit and marketing, internal control and institutional banking.
The new ED, Shuaib was the general manager Abuja zone and has over 23 years experience in branch management, and credit and marketing.
He is a fellow of the Nigerian Institute of loan and risk management, honorary member of CIBN and member NIM.
NEW CHAIRMAN FOR FIDELITY BANK
Veteran banker, Ernest Ebi, has been elevated to the chair of the board of directors of Fidelity Bank PLC to replace Christopher Ezeh who retired recently.
According to managing director/chief executive officer of the bank, Mr Nnamdi Okonkwo, the new chairman takes over alongside two new non-executive directors, Messrs Charles Chidebe Umolu and Kings C. Akuma.
Dr Ezeh had retired after 11 years after attaining the retirement age for non executive directors.
The new chairman, Ebi, was from 1999 to 2009 deputy governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria after stints as deputy managing director/chief operating officer, Diamond bank, managing director, New Nigeria bank, executive director, African Continental Bank and as head of various departments in International merchant bank between 1981 and 1983.
Ebi holds a Bachelor of Business from Howard University, Washington and a masters in business administration.
Umolu is currently the managing consultant of Corimol Nigeria ltd and has over 18 years experience in banking
He has Bachelor's degree in economics and an MBA from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-ife and currently serves on the board of Profound Securities ltd.
He was the managing director of Comet Merchant bank from 1995 to 1997.
On the hand, Akuma is the managing director of Hammakop Consortium ltd, an affiliate of Nestoil group PLC.
He has a Bachelor's degree in accounting from University of Nigeria Nsukka and an MBA from the University of Lagos. He is also a fellow of the chartered institute of taxation.
FORTE OIL: TWO NEW DIRECTORS.
Two new non executive but independent directors have been admitted to the board of Forte Oil PLC.
According formal notice signed by company secretary, Akinleye Olagbende esq and group chief executive, Mr Akinfemiwa, they are both women: Dr (Mrs) Maria Usman Mandara and Mrs Salamatu Hussain Suleiman.
Mrs Mandara is a consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist. She had her medical training at the University of Jos and practiced at the Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital Zaria between 2005 and 2010.
She later became senior country adviser in Nigeria for David and Lucille Packard Foundation and later too, Health systems adviser for Earth Institute of New York's Columbia University.
On the other hand, Mrs Suleiman is a lawyer and advocate and was between 2008 and 2010, honourable minister for women affairs and minister of state in the foreign affairs ministry 2010 to 2011.
Also between February 2012 and March 2016 she served as commissioner with the Economic Community of West African states ( ECOWAS).
ACCESS BANK EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR RESIGNS
Mr Elias Igbinakenzua, has resigned his appointment as the executive director Corporate and Investment banking, with Access Bank PLC.
According to company secretary, Sunday Ekwochi esq, he resigned without any outstanding issues with the bank
The board has since accepted his resignation and he is to proceed on garden leave from December 2016.
