TIME WAS WHEN KINGS WERE SAVAGES

Time was when world kings and leaders were savages and men with little value for lives other than their own. Today, such men of valor and power are no more, their descendants are now gentlemen and ladies teaching the world how to behave and the need for ocial manners.
Time was when slave masters worked their human cartel to death, abused them at will even sexually and abandoned the children who were products of their lust. Today, their descendants proud themselves on having a black president and being the champion and defender of human rights worldwide.
Time was when particular races of men were so deluded with their own perceived superiority that they plundered and declared war on the weak and defenceless, glorified and celebrated their brand of gallantry but in the end, today their descendants avoid war by all means and seek peace and every nations right to exist no matter how small such nations are.
Time is now when selfishness rules the world, when there are no permanent friends, only permanent interests, and so, hackers abound, corruption sets the pace even if relatively, and militancy whether of religion, or of defiant human behaviour lead many to suicide bombing and life taking with impunity, what can we expect of tomorrow?
If the past is anything to go by, then it is safe to expect as usual new and rich manure only from decaying refuse dump of whatever size. Yet, go near were the decaying process is at it's height, not many can stand the stench and even the sight.
Those who easily forget that they as human beings generate wastes themselves are quick to raise their self righteous noses and wonder how fellow humans and other souls could even live near such sights, talk less of being part of it.
Yet none of these stops the candle from burning so brightly suddenly before it burns out. None of mans reaction to stench from decay stops the spot where a candle is lite from seeming  more dirty than the one without candle.
So, it must be with the stench from today's corruption, today's bigotry, today's selfish hacking and today's new frontiers of war and subjugation. Like in the past, it matters not where these are burning brightest right now; neither does it matter who is now pointing accusing fingers and painting races and nations with colours from acts of a few. These too will pass just like savage rulers of yore, human rights underminers of yesteryears and even religious persecutors of days gone by.
So Nigeria is the most corrupt nation on the world? Great work Buhari and the Cameron's of today's world but rest assured, this too will pass and in its place, who knows yet another manure from offending decay.

KENYA AUCTIONS Ksh 13.84bn Treasury Bonds.

The Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) will from Tuesday December 18 to 27th 2018_ auction Ksh 13.84bn worth of fixed income Treasury Bonds with issue date December 17, 2018. According to official statement from the Director of Financial Markets Irene Njiru on Monday December 17, auction will continue throughout the stated period or close once the target money to be raised is reached, whichever comes first. Bid value will be paid for at most by 2pm December 31, 2018 while auction results will be made public on December 28, 2018 after the scheduled closing date. The bonds are being issued at 12.502% fixed interest at an adjusted average price of Ksh 100.468 for Ksh 100 bond. However, price payable after auction results publication will be average of successful bid prices based and allotment will be on first come first served basis. NAIROBI SE's HIGH PRICED EQUITIES.

In the wake of Nigeria's high priced quoted companies posted in this blog a while ago, Henates took a look to at Nairobi Securities Exchange June 23 official list to identify its high priced equities and the outcome was interesting too. Of the 66 companies quoted on the market by June 23, 15 or 22.7% were valued averagely at above 30 times nominal value. A word of caution though: There are two clear differences between the Nigerian stock market list and that of Nairobi: In the Nigerian one most listed companies have par or nominal value of N0.50 as is there is an implied agreement on this. On the other hand, at Nairobi most of the equities do not share common par value, they differ greatly. Then another thing, Nigerian equities are not valued below par, Nairobi ones can and many are so valued.
