UNION DICON AIMS HIGHER

In spite of the tough times, Union Dicon Salt PLC is raising its sights beyond salt manufacturing to agro allied with the aim of becoming a major player in that sector soon.
According to a release from the company, hitherto, 15000 hectares of land had been secured in Edo state to grow and process cassava.
Now, 2000 hectares  more are to be added to ensure that the processing plants to be established in Edo and Delta States makes it the largest producer of starch in Nigeria soon.
Already, says the release, an agreement has been signed with a German company, GEA Westphalaa to build this starch processing facility in Nigeria.
Until recent years Union Dicon was Nigeria's highest producer of salt. It was established in 1984.

BOARD CHANGES AT TRANSCORP HOTELS.

Following the resignation of Mr Benjamin Dikki from the board of directors of Transcorp Hotels PLC Dr Vincent Akpotaire and Mr Adim Jibunoh have been appointed executive directors with effect from March 23, 2016.
Until his new appointment, Dr Akpotaire was the most senior and overseeing director at the Bureau For Public Enterprises (BPE) in the absence of a substantive director general.
He holds PhD in corporate and investment law from the University of Nigeria Nsukka, an LLM and an LLB from the University of Benin.
He brings to bear his 25 years of experience in academia and international finance especially as an expert in deregulation, privatisation and commercialisation.
Mr Jibunoh, on the other, holds Bsc Economics and an executive MBA from the University of Lagos.
He brings to bear 20 years working experience especially in the Nigerian banking industry.
The take off point of his career was when he joined Nigerian Industrial Development Bank in 1986 as Investment executive/economist and spanned through progressive moves to First City Merchant Bank, Intercontinental bank, Continental Trust Bank (as CEO) and much later Standard Trust Bank then finally, Heirs Holdings PLC as group director, Business development.

RESORT SAVINGS & LOANS NEW DIRECTOR

Resort Savings and Loans PLC has appointed Mr Oyinloye Olanipekun Michael as executive director, operations.
According to a notice from the company to the stock market, he was appointed with effect from March 31, 2016.
