LA FARGE: NEW CEO

A new group chief executive officer, Mr Michel Puchercos has been appointed for La Farge Africa PLC with effect from April 1, this year.
He takes over from Mr Peter Hoddinott whose resignation from the board takes effect from March 31.
Mr Puchercos had returned to La Farce since 1998 after branching out in 1992 after a three year first stint.
He had joined La Farge in 1989 as a director of Orson, a subsidiary, from the French Agriculture Ministry then branched out to work in various other positions across food and chemical industries in Europe.
From coming back as Director strategy and information systems for Gypsum division, he moved to Cement division in 2003 as director cement strategy until he was reassigned from 2005 to 2009 as managing director of Bamburi cement before being posted as CEO La Farge South Korea Japan operations.

BOARD CHANGES AT RED STAR EXPRESS

With effect from April 1, three new faces will be on the board of directors of Red Star Express PLC.
They are Mr Sola Obadori who comes in as group deputy managing director, Mr Victor Ukwat and Mr Auwalu Babura as executive directors sales and marketing and finance respectively.
Mr Obadori who got elevated from being general manager/CEO of Red Star Logistics joined Red Star Express in 1999 and over the years had served in various other top positions.
He holds Bsc Accointing , MBA and a master of philosophy in Business administration from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife.
He is an associate of the National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria and fellow if Institute of business management.
Mr Ukwat, on the other hand, joined Red Star in 1997 and was general manager sales and marketing before his elevation.
He holds Bsc from University of Calabar, MSC from the University of Ibadan and an MBA from the Lagos business school.
Mr Babura joined the company in 1994 after working as auditor with an accounting firm.
Before his elevation he was head, internal audit and quality assurance. He is an associate of institute of chartered accountants of Nigeria, and holds Bsc accounting from Bayero University, Kano and an MBA from the Lagos state university.

TIGER BRANDED: NEW DIRECTORS

Two new directors have been appointed to the board of Tiger Branded Consumer Goods PLC from March 15, this year. They are Mr Asue Ighodalo as new chairman and Alhaji Ahmed Shehu Yakassi as executive director supply chain.
Mr Ighodalo is a founding partner of Banwo & Ighodalo and holds Bsc economics from University of Ibadan and a law degree from the London school of economics.
He was called to the Nigerian bar in July 1985 and currently also chairs Sterling Bank PLC and serves on the board of some other companies.
Alhaji Yakassi has been with Dangote group since 1995 after stints as chief accountant at KASCO and as financial controller/ company secretary at Raleigh Industries.
In the Dangote group he has served in various positions including as special assistant to the Group President before his new position.
