UNITY KAPITAL ASSURANCE: NEW CHAIRMAN

A new chairman of the board of directors of Unity Kapital  Assurance PLC has been appointed. She is Mrs Aisha A Abraham.
Mrs Abraham replaced Henry James Sementari on the chair from February 16,  this year.
She became a non executive member of the board on July 24, 2014 and is currently executive director Secretariat services of Unity Bank PLC.
She holds LLB from Ahmadu Bello University and was called to the bar in 1983.
Shee was a senior partner with Baiyee, Abubakar&co before moving to ABU faculty of law as graduate assistant between 1985 and 1986.
From here she moved into banking into banking starting with a stint in the legal department of NAL Merchant bank up to 1988, and Ivory merchant credit and marketing department later in 1990.
She was a pioneer director with Urban Development bank in 1992 before becoming company secretary/legal adviser for First Interstate bank 2002 to 2006 and has been with Unity bank since the merger between different then existing banks brought into being in 2006,

ECOBANK TRANSNATIONAL ELEVATES GHANA MD

The managing director of Ecobank Ghana, Mr Samuel Ashitey Adjei, after 10 years at the helm of affairs, says Ecobank Transnational, has been elevated to a newly created position of managing director for central, eastern and southern Africa region.
He moves to his new position from March 30 this year and a hunt for his successor has begun.
Mr Adjei has been with Ecobank for 25 years and was appointed CEO of Eco bank Ghana in 2006. They turned out to be remarkable years indeed.
Says Ecobank Group CEO Mr Ade Adeyemi " over the last several years and more so in the last 10 years as MD, Sam has taken our Ghana subsidiary to unprecedented leadership heights and has given us a franchise that is well positioned for continued and substantial success"
He added that Ecobank Ghana " has become the most successful and profitable subsidiary both internally within the Ecobank Group and externally in the Ghana banking industry"

TIGER BRANDED CONSUMER GOODS NEW DIRECTOR

Ms Halima Dangote has been appointed an executive director with Tiger Branded Consumer Products PLC.
According to the notice sent to the Nigerian stock exchange and signed by company Secretary Mrs Aisa Ladi Isa the appointment took effect from February 15 this year
It also signals full return and representation of Dangote interest in the company that was hitherto known as Dangote Flour mills PLC.
