NNPC TO INTERCONNECT ITS OFFICES NATIONWIDE.
The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) is to interconnect all its offices and stations across the country via an internet network and so has asked for bids from interested service providers.
According to bid document posted on the NNPC website simply dated December 2015, the search is for service providers to provide " MPLS and internet service connectivity to her locations to enable effective communication and collaboration, also to extend shared services to her user enterprise-wide.."
"The network" it added " should support any to any communication between sites"
The services to be provided include fully meshed any to any MPLS network; bandwith provision, installation, configuration, hardening and maintenance support.
Also included are integration with LAN/WAN; proactive monitoring and reporting capacity, training etc " with service level agreement binding the bidder/service provider to maintain uptime and application /service commitments"
The service must also be scalable to accommodate any expansions and/or changes in the future as per NNPC requirements.
Under the plan, the offices and stations across the country have been grouped into seven coverage areas viz Abuja, Mosimi; Lagos, Warri, Kaduna, Port Harcourt and Benin areas.
Under Abuja 19 locations are involved and include various offices in Abuja plus Headquarters, depots in Minna and Suleija, NNPC stations in Lokoja, Makurdi, Mafia, Minna, Okene; NNPC medical, Pensions and retail HQ.
Mosimi will cover depots in Mosimi, Ilorin, Ibadan, and Ore; stations in Ilorin, Akure, Abeokuta, Oshogbo, Ibadan and Ekiti in addition to group and PPMC area offices in Mosimi.
Lagos has 18 locations on its coverage including zonal office, subsidiary offices, ITD centre, NGC Ewekoro, Ikeja and Ojuologbon, and depots at Atlas cove, and Ejigbo.
Like Mosimi Warri has 13 locations to be connected. They include area offices and depots, NGC Ajaokuta and Ughelli, Forcados, Excravos terminal, Asaba station and OML 34 Ejeba and 30.
Of all Kaduna has a far wider coverage involving 34 locations made up of zonal and area offices, depots in Yola, Zaria, Jos, Gombe, Kano, Gusau, Kaduna and Maiduguri plus stations in Biu, Dutse, Katsinav,Kano, Birrin Kebbi, Sokoto , Damaturu, Yoka, Maiduguri, Jos, Jalingo, Gusau, Kebbi and Bauchi.
Port Harcourt area coverage is also loaded with 28 locations including zonal, subsidiary offices and depots in Calabar, Enugu, Aba, Ikot-Abasi, Uyo, Yenogoa, Aba, Owerri, Abakaliki, Aba and Umuahia.
Benin has 14 locations in its area and include Headquarters of NPDC and IDSL, stations in Abudu, Auchi, Oredo and NGC Benin amongst others.
To qualify bidders are expected to provide the usual proofs of registration, tax payment, 3-year audited accounts plus evidence of financial capability, relevant and verifiable work experience, and certification for MPLS VPN network infrastructure, ISO 9001-2008, TC 9000, Cisco, and OEM letter of recommendation.
