INVESTMENT OPPORTUNITIES FOR YOU IN NIGERIAN OIL AND GAS

Much as many outside and even within Nigeria love to see the end of crude oil and gas in the country, it will be quite a lonh while before the wells dry up and natural gas narrows to the last cubic feet.

Until then, says the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and the Nigerian Content Development & Monitoring Board (NCDMB) there is plenty of room for you to invest in the industry especially if you are a Nigerian small or medium scale outfit.

Deliberate effort to encourage more local content in the industry has been on since 2011. Here are some of the opportunities you can tap, as itemised by the NNPC and NCDMB on line and at different for a over the years.

*Domestic production and marketing of Liquified Natural Gas.

* Domestic manufacturing liquified petroleum gas (LPG) cylinders, valves and regulators, installation of filling plants, retailing distribution and development of simple , flexible and less expensive gas burners.

*Establishment of processing plants and industries for refined mineral oil, petroleum jelly and grease; bituminous based water/damp proof building materials like roofing sheets, floor tiles, tarpaulin; and for asphalt storage, packaging and blending  for exports.

*Small scale production of chemical solvents eg chlorinated methane, formaldehyde, acetylene

* Lubricating oil reprocessing, LPG bottles and accessories production and oil cans reconditioning.

*Surveying, tropical and planimetric and sea bottom surveying.

* Civil works like mud pit construction and concrete works at rig sites.

*Seismic data acquisition and interpretation

* Drilling operations like pipelining, crude oil transportation and storage

* Manufacture of consumables like explosives, detonators, steel casting, magnetic tapes

* Search for or development of local substitutes for items like as medium press ure valves, pumps, shallow drilling equipment, bits fittings,drilling cement etc.

*Provision of services like insurance, legal, banking and finance, training and capacity building and cargo inspection and survey.

*Production of sub sea production systems, line pipes, personal protective equipment, drilling fluid etc.

* Design engineering, project management, shipping and logistics, rigs and marine vessels financing and lease, facilities installation and maintenance etc.

What is more, says the NCDMB, oil and gas parks are being established at five locations across the country and the Board is ever willing and active in intervening on behalf of local content projects to ease access to funding and expertise.

KENYA AUCTIONS Ksh 13.84bn Treasury Bonds.

The Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) will from Tuesday December 18 to 27th 2018_ auction Ksh 13.84bn worth of fixed income Treasury Bonds with issue date December 17, 2018. According to official statement from the Director of Financial Markets Irene Njiru on Monday December 17, auction will continue throughout the stated period or close once the target money to be raised is reached, whichever comes first. Bid value will be paid for at most by 2pm December 31, 2018 while auction results will be made public on December 28, 2018 after the scheduled closing date. The bonds are being issued at 12.502% fixed interest at an adjusted average price of Ksh 100.468 for Ksh 100 bond. However, price payable after auction results publication will be average of successful bid prices based and allotment will be on first come first served basis. NAIROBI SE's HIGH PRICED EQUITIES.

In the wake of Nigeria's high priced quoted companies posted in this blog a while ago, Henates took a look to at Nairobi Securities Exchange June 23 official list to identify its high priced equities and the outcome was interesting too. Of the 66 companies quoted on the market by June 23, 15 or 22.7% were valued averagely at above 30 times nominal value.
