DIAMOND BANK: NEW DIRECTORS

Three new directors have been appointed to the board of Diamond Bank PLC. They are Mrs Chizoma Okoli, Mr Chiugo Ndubisi and Mr Rotimi Olayiwola Oyekanmi

According to a release signed by the company Secretary, Nkechi Nwosu, both Okoli and Ndubisi have been with the bank for years.

Mrs Okoli was head of Business development and now becomes executive director, with the same function.

She joined Diamond Bank in 1992 as executive trainee and had served in various capacities since then.

She is a law graduate from the University of Benin called to the Nigerian bar in 1990. She also has an MBA from Warwick Business school, Coventry, UK.

Mr Ndubisi, on the other hand, will function as executive director, Finance. He was confirmed as chief financial officer last July after acting in that capacity for a while

He joined the bank in 1996 as executive trainee and in later times too was financial controller, then head, financial management.

He has a first class degree in Engineering from the University of Nsukka and an MBA from the University of Lagos.

Mr Oyekanmi was appointed to the board as an independent director without executive functions.

He is a fellow of the Institute of chartered accountants of Nigeria with more than 33 years of working experience in banking and investment.

He also holds Bsc Economics from the University of Ibadan and MSC from the London School of economics and political sciences.

Presently, he is chairman of Rendeavour group and RenMoney MFB ltd and a partner in APIs Partners LLP.

His working experience spans stints in Arthur Andersen & co; International Institute of Tropical Agriculture; and Prime Merchant Bank.

BICHI BACK AS DIRECTOR, RED STAR EXPRESS.

After nine years as chief executive officer, Mr Sule Umar Bichi is back on the board of Red Star Express PLC but this time, as a non executive director

He was reappointed to the board on October 27, this year.

Bichi, an accounting graduate from Bayero University, Kano, is a fellow of both the Institute of Chartered accountants of Nigeria and the Institute of Directors.

Currently, he is the CEO of Madinka Ventures Ltd and chairman of the audit committee of the Institute of Durectors.

LAW UNION & ROCK INSURANCE

Mrs Onome Joy Adewuyi has been appointed to the board of Law Union & Rock Insurance PLC as non executive director.

According to the company Secretary, Stan Chikwendu, the appointment is asual subject to the approval of regulatory authorities and ratification at the next annual general meeting of shareholders.
